Veronica Olsen 🏳️‍🌈🇳🇴🌻<p>A couple of years back I wrote a blog post about linking my static blog posts to Mastodon threads so that the threads can serve as blog comments.</p><p>I realise I never pinned that post to my profile, and I have since deleted the Mastodon thread, so I'm sharing it again. I'm pinning it this time!</p><p><a href="https://berglyd.net/blog/2023/03/mastodon-comments/" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">berglyd.net/blog/2023/03/masto</span><span class="invisible">don-comments/</span></a></p><p><a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/Static" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Static</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/Blog" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Blog</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/Hugo" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Hugo</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/Comments" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Comments</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.online/tags/Mastodon" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Mastodon</span></a></p>

Maho Pacheco 🦝🍻<p>Part 3 of "A Guide to Implementing ActivityPub in a Static Site (or Any Website)" is just out the oven!</p><p>In this blog post, I explain how to make your blog discoverable in the Fediverse as an account, and also address some of the annoying pitfalls I encountered. </p><p>Full article here: <a href="https://maho.dev/2024/02/a-guide-to-implementing-activitypub-in-a-static-site-or-any-website-part-3/" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">maho.dev/2024/02/a-guide-to-im</span><span class="invisible">plementing-activitypub-in-a-static-site-or-any-website-part-3/</span></a></p><p>If you like it don't forget to follow the <span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://maho.dev/" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>blog</span></a></span> !</p><p><a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/fediverse" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>fediverse</span></a> <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/activitypub" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>activitypub</span></a> <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/static" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>static</span></a>-sites <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/hugo" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>hugo</span></a> <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/azure" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>azure</span></a> <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/mastodon" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>mastodon</span></a> <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/web" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>web</span></a>-development <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/social" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>social</span></a>-web <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/webfinger" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>webfinger</span></a> <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/http" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>http</span></a></p>
Ricard Torres<p><span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://social.ayco.io/@ayo" class="u-url mention">@<span>ayo</span></a></span> I found <a href="https://ricard.social/tags/Hugo" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Hugo</span></a> to be far superior wouldn&#39;t go back to Jekyll.</p><p>The build and dev server start up times are insanely fast.</p>
Ricard Torres<p><span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://fosstodon.org/@kev" class="u-url mention">@<span>kev</span></a></span> Very nice! I&#39;ve found using <a href="https://github.dev" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">github.dev</span><span class="invisible"></span></a> directly on a <a href="https://ricard.social/tags/GitHub" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>GitHub</span></a> repo in the browser is also quite convenient workflow 👌 </p><p>In the switch from <a href="https://ricard.social/tags/WordPress" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>WordPress</span></a> to <a href="https://ricard.social/tags/Jekyll" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Jekyll</span></a> did you consider other static site generators like <a href="https://ricard.social/tags/Hugo" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Hugo</span></a>❓ </p><p>I&#39;ve found Hugo so fast to start and build, it&#39;s ridiculous 🏎️</p>
Ricard Torres<p>Very inspired by this personal public wiki <a href="https://wiki.nikiv.dev" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">wiki.nikiv.dev</span><span class="invisible"></span></a> :blobcataww: </p><p>&quot;This is my personal wiki where I share everything I know about this world in form of an online wiki built with <a href="https://ricard.social/tags/Docusaurus" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Docusaurus</span></a> on <a href="https://ricard.social/tags/GitHub" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>GitHub</span></a>.&quot;</p><p>I do too have a (private) wiki (built with <a href="https://ricard.social/tags/Hugo" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Hugo</span></a>) and works really well for me.</p><p>I have force myself to write in it more.</p>
Ricard Torres<p>@BoomlandJenkins@universeodon.com <span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://mastodon.design/@DavidDarnes" class="u-url mention">@<span>DavidDarnes</span></a></span> what I really dislike about <a href="https://ricard.social/tags/Gatsby" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Gatsby</span></a> is that I had to add dirty hacks to make it not output <a href="https://ricard.social/tags/JavaScript" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>JavaScript</span></a> by default.</p><p>If you want just HTML output <a href="https://ricard.social/tags/Hugo" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Hugo</span></a> is better.</p>
Ricard Torres<p>In another news... I&#39;ve created this small site for my random code snippets 😎</p><p>These will be mostly very small, not worthy of a regular blog post 🧑‍💻</p><p>Built with <a href="https://ricard.social/tags/Hugo" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Hugo</span></a></p><p>➡️ <a href="https://ricard.dev/gists/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">ricard.dev/gists/</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></p><p>PD: yes, I stole the name from GitHub, don&#39;t sue me 😇</p>
