#Naruto was such wasted potential. I loved the OG series. I liked Shippuden as well but only up to a certain point. After the War arc things just went off the rails. I hated the power creep DBZ ass shit. Let's not even speak of Kaguya lol. (And I dare not mention Boruto.)

Also, Kishimoto can't write women for shit. I loved Sakura. I wish she could have become her own character instead of Tsunade 2.0, with her own abilities and skillset. Or at least had more moments to shine besides the very start and very end of Shippuden.

I still love the lore and worldbuilding though. I'm more into fanon than canon these days. I actually like writing Sasuke/Sakura--the only caveat being I ignore 85% of canon.

I'm enjoying a lot the chūnin exam arc

For a 20 year old manga, this holds very well. Unlike the anime that feels way older.

@okokokok agreed, I also thought that war arc was so over the top.

Watched the anime multiple times and I'm currently reading the #manga (I'm at volume 10) and the believable power for everyone (chunin exam arc) is fun to read. I'm enjoying it a lot.

The power during the war and the black hole balls of pure chakra obliterating continents... Not so much.

@okokokok but throughout the story we have many arcs in which Naruto needs to level up and work hard. It's not like the nine tails gives up the power and we're done

Naruto volume 7

Very decent volume. Good amount of fighting, and we’ve got insights into many characters from the village and some of the mysterious ones like Gaara and Kabuto.

Things start to get complicated. Why would Orochimary infect Sasuke with that? What’s the plan behind it? Will the author expand on this soon or are we continuing the exam as if nothing happened?
