As you already know, it's way different than Blue Lock (that's not a bad thing). It was, in fact, the anime that made me start collecting the manga.
Ao Ashi Volume 11
Ashito seems to be finally becoming that “play-maker” the coach teased about a few volumes back. More and more he’s doing it on purpose. I think we’re ready for the next step.
Ao Ashi Volume 10 
We’ve got a nice volume right here. Packed with action, almost no talking, the way I like it!
We haven’t seen any major character development just struggle. At this point, I can’t tell what’s going to happen with this match. Could go either way.
I’m more interested in seeing how Ashito will grow in this role of playmaker.
Will he realize soon that is his destiny?

Just finished Ao Ashi volume 9
This was a very average volume I’m afraid, we had barely any playing time. Surely we somehow needed this conflict, and the backstories… but I can’t fool myself, I’m here for the games and the action. This volume had almost none.

It felt a little bit worse maybe because of the overall mood. We see Ashito struggling, people yelling at him, telling him to go home even 
He’s being portrayed as knowing nothing (which could be somewhat true at being a defender) but is it too much? He’s brilliant at times (without realizing it, that’s fine!) but other times is like… “Oh right, I could watch videos and learn from them”

Ashito’s face after Coach Fukuda gave him the shocking news represents well our faces too. What in the world?! Does this mean he’ll be even more effective being a full-back defender?

This volume has been very good overall, I think the best so far in terms of drawing.
Such intense panels, it has kept me reading fast. I read the whole volume in one sitting. I usually never do this, as I want to pace myself and enjoy them more. Was hard to stop reading this one. Well done.

The highest praise is probably seeing Asari’s face all surprised by Ashito’s ball control.
