Amsterdam_XXXThe building across the street that this little girl is looking at was built in 1️⃣8️⃣7️⃣8️⃣. The apartment block is located in the “Zaagpoortbuurt” (literally: ‘sawgate area’). 🪚🚪 Marnixstraat is a main road between two famous squares (Leidseplein and Haarlemmerplein). The street has a mix of old and modern buildings, including some from the 19th century. A great deal of it used to be part of the old city walls. 🏡 🏛️ I usually avoid posting pictures of people here, but here’s an exception—an anonymous photo of my daughter, taken in our old stairwell in Amsterdam_XXXThe houseboat “Rumah Saya” is a motor tjalk located at the intersection of Keizersgracht and Amstel. This historic vessel, built in 1893, measures approximately 16.7 meters in length and 3.7 meters in width. ⛵️ In Indonesian, rumah saya literally means “my house” (rumah = house, saya = I/my). In Malay, it has the same meaning. 🇮🇩🇲🇾🏠 The houseboat is situated in a prime location, close to the “National Opera”, “Koninklijk Theater Carré”, “Museum De Hermitage”, and the “Magere Brug”. 📸 <a
