It was nice weather at the beach today. Half of The Hague had come to the boulevard. But in your swimsuit like in this photo was not yet possible. I took this photo years ago. Those poles of the pier in Scheveningen (#denhaag) and their reflections in the water make it a popular spot for photographers. The pier is the most photographed building in the Netherlands, I once read somewhere. But it is difficult to make it profitable. It should be completely renovated, but the costs are enormous. There are plans to put a hotel on it. We will just have to wait and see. In the middle of the photo a horizontal strip of sandy beach with a number of people in bathing suits spread out on it. Above that a horizontal blue strip of the sea and above that the light blue sky. On the beach a large number of concrete poles next to and behind each other, reaching up to the concrete bottom of the pier at the top of the photo. Below the strip of sandy beach is a large pool of water that runs horizontally across the entire photo, in which all those poles are reflected. The reflections give the image something very alien.
